Nurturing Early Childhood Growth
Inspiring creativity and learning for young minds.
Inspiring creativity and learning for young minds.
At BeeGinning Learner’s our philosophy is trusting relationships should be built as a base in order for children to learn. We will be striving to meet the needs of individual children, as they are all unique and valuable. We believe all activities young children are involved in should be developmentally appropriate. We will be planning activities for children based upon their interests and needs. A safe, appropriate, attractive and healthy environment for the children to learn and grow in will be provided. We believe all activities should allow for creativity, exploration, manipulation, and play. We as teachers will help children grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at all times; As well as allowing and encouraging children to learn autonomy.
At BeeGinning Learner's Preschool we have many goals for the children. We strife to meet these goals by keeping our standards set high. Our ultimate goal is preparing the children to be Kindergarten Ready by learning all the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten. To accomplish this goal we work hard in providing all opportunities necessary for the children to learn the skills for Kindergarten. Our other main goals for the children are as follows: 1) They will grow closer to independence by completing more tasks on their own. 2) Children’s self concept will be enhanced, their creativity will be expanded and their problem solving and literacy skills will be increased through learning experiences. 3) A spirit of community and responsibility toward self and others will be strengthened in each child within the children’s groups. 4) Healthy growth in all developmental areas will be encouraged by specific attention to developmental patterns and individual needs.
At BeeGinning Learner’s we take a Constructavitst Approach, that children construct their own knowledge through interactions with the environment. We will have a balance between teacher directed and child directed learning. We believe in providing opportunities for children to learn through exploration and discovery. We will provide an appropriate learning environment with appropriate materials and allow the children to explore, manipulate, and play with the materials and learn from these experiences. We will assist the children as they explore and manipulate materials, through specialized teaching strategies geared to support their leaning of the materials. We believe in using themed learning and using reinforcement of centers to teach the curriculum. All subjects that are taught within these centers will be through active, “hands on” learning experiences. It is not about how high a child can count or how many words they can read at this age. It is about building the foundation of learning, creativity, problem solving and curiosity that will be with the child the rest of their lives.
We also believe that "play" should be an active part in the learning process. “Play is the major vehicle through which young children learn.” An important part of “play” is children experiencing daily "hands on” learning opportunities. These experiences give children a way to discover and grasp concepts on their own. Play is a huge part of children’s lives and should remain this way. Play gives children the opportunity to explore their creativity, social skills, interests, language abilities, fine motor skills, large motor skills, emotions through expression, sharing and cooperation skills, imagination, physical abilities, talents and many other areas. Play is very important for children’s development as well as for their future. Play helps children to develop their identity and gain superior understanding of oneself and ones world.
We will be striving as teachers to work together with parents by having a respectful relationship as partners with each parent. Parent’s involvement is the key to their child’s success. We will inform parents of their child’s progress and keep them involved in their learning process and education. Community resources will also be used in your child’s education process.
Each child’s parents, family, friends, teachers, community, and their personal experiences in their lives become their compass. We as teachers, have a major influence on children’s compasses and futures, especially in the early years during preschool. Our job as your child’s teachers will be to do our best in pointing your children in the right direction for their future.
If you have questions about classes or schedules, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
